Here at Yonekyu, we have a pact with Shizuoka Prefecture and Fuji City as the "Shizuoka Mirai-no Mori Supporter." This enables us pursue the reforestation of 26 hectares located within the "Mt Fuji Children's World." Starting with undergrowth-trimming to forest-thinning, with tools ranging from sickles, grass trimmers, hand saws, to chainsaws, we strive to use these physical forest maintenance activities not only to educate staff about the importance of nature, but also to bolster the sense of awareness in environmental protection.

We recycle food processing residuals coming out of our plants into high-quality fertilizers. Some of the vegetables grown with these fertilizers are being used in our delicatessen and beer merchandise, such as cabbage for meat-stuffed cabbage rolls.

The Eco Project Center located at Asagiri-Kohgen in Fujinomiya City is at the core of Yonekyu's food resource recycling effort. It annually produces 700 tons of fertilizer, branded "Compost Power," from unused organic resources consisting of dried food residuals such as food processing byproducts from our plants, and Reuseable Organic Resources (Biomass) like cattle dung, coffee grinds, and brewery waste. We use this organic fertilizer at our contract farms as well as at our affiliated sporting grounds to help control grass growth.
